	西西的喬治亞 Xi Xi’s Georgian


	英國的木頭玩具屋有許多類型：都鐸皇朝式、維多利亞式、鄉村茅屋式等；最吸引我的是十八世紀的喬治亞。喬治亞（Georgian）建築，是由於當時連續在位的四位英皇都叫喬治。其實譯成喬治也可以了，但我還是比較喜歡喬治亞的叫法，以便跟名詞區別。這種建築以簡潔、和諧、嚴整著稱，源於希臘神殿和義大利柏拉底奧（Palladio）形式，房子四方形，大門開在正中，兩邊是窗子，前後斜落兩面坡屋頂，對稱均勻，連煙囪也建在屋子一左一右，端正，穩重。大門進內是樓梯，房間分佈兩側。屋子兩層，但可加配層地庫和一層帶老虎窗的閣樓。 ── 西西《我的喬治亞》台北：洪範書店，2008 There are many types of wooden dollhouses in England: Tudor, Victorian, thatch hut, and so on; the one that attracts me the most is the Georgian style of the eighteenth century. It is called Georgian architecture because the four consecutive kings at that time were named George. In fact, it can be translated as George, but I still prefer the name of Georgia, so as to distinguish it from the noun. This kind of building is famous for its simplicity, harmony and formality. Originating from the Greek temple and the Italian Palladio form, the house is square, the door is in the middle, there are windows on both sides, the front and rear slopes are sloped on both sides, the symmetry is even, and even the chimneys are on the left and right of the house, which is upright and stable. Stepping through the main door, there are stairs, and the rooms are distributed on both sides. The house has two floors, but a basement and a loft with a dormer window can be added.
