This database contains four searching modes: simple search, advanced search, faceted search and search within results.

• • Simple Search 
    Just type one or more words related to the subject you are looking for and press enter. Records containing all the entered words will be retrieved.

• • Advanced Search 
    Advanced search allows users to find more focused results. It includes the following search fields:
    
    • • Keyword 
        Type any word(s). Records containing all the entered words will be retrieved.
        e.g. 五十年代
      • Title 
        Type the exact title or the first few words of the title.
        e.g. 香港
      • Author 
        Type the author or creator’s name.
        e.g. 小思
        • Author (All Pen Names) 
          Results will include all pseudonyms of an author.
          e.g. 明川
      • Publication title 
        Type the exact publication title or the first few words of the title.
        e.g. 中國學生周報 

• Faceted Search 
  Faceted search options allow you to fine tune the results by limiting to full text, source, author, publication title, resource type and date.

• Search within Results 
  Click “Search within results” button to search for a more specific topic within your original results.

• Search Tips

• • Use quotation marks (). Enclosing a phrase in quotation marks will return results with the words you entered.

• • Use Boolean Operators AND, OR to combine keywords. The default operator is “AND”.

• • • AND (+): both terms must be present, e.g. 小思 + 陸離
    • OR (|): either term must be present, e.g. 香港|台灣
